Andrew Goring

UCLA Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry

Biochemistry, Molecular, and Structural Biology

Andrew joined the Loo Lab in 2019. He received his B. S. at the University of California, Santa Barbara where he majored in Biochemistry and worked in Professor Songi Han’s lab researching the structure and mechanism of Tau aggregation. Before coming to UCLA, he worked in a biochemistry and high-throughput screening team at Intrexon corporation. He is now a joint student with the Clubb lab, using surface proteomics and native top-down mass spectrometry to characterize protein mechanisms employed by pathogenic bacteria to mount and sustain an infection. Outside of research, Andrew enjoys spending time in nature, trying new foods, and snowboarding.
