Merin Rixen

Merin joined the Loo lab in Summer 2022, joint with the Quinlan Lab. She received her B.S. in Biochemistry from California State University, Long Beach in 2021. As an undergraduate student, she worked with Dr. Jason Schwans as a research fellow in the Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) program where she developed therapeutics to combat neurotransmitter degradation in Alzheimer’s Disease. As a graduate student, Merin is using proteomics as a tool to study female egg development and infertility using Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism.
